Terms of Service

This is the first version of our Terms of Service.

By using TFM and any other services provided by Astar Labs ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.

Astar Labs is a hobby project run by a single individual based in Belgium, European Union. TFM is an AI assistant built and operated entirely in-house, offered free of charge with no commerical motive. We are not a company, and we make no guarantees about the service beyond what is stated here.

You must be at least 13 years old to use TFM. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under the age of 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

TFM is an experimental AI assistant built from scratch as a personal learning project. It is not a production-grade system, and it is not designed to compete with or replace professional tools or services.

You should be aware that:

• TFM will make mistakes. Its responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or outright wrong.
• TFM is not a substitute for professional advice - legal, medical, financial, psychological, or otherwise. Do not make important decisions based solely on its output.
• TFM's capabilities are limited by its size and training data. It is a small model. Treat it accordingly.

We are not responsible for any consequences arising from your use of, or reliance on, TFM's responses.

You agree to use TFM only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these terms. You must not use TFM to:

• Generate content that is illegal under Belgian, EU, or applicable local law.
• Harass, threaten, or harm any individual or group.
• Produce or distribute spam, misinformation, or deliberately deceptive content at scale.
• Attempt to circumvent, probe, or exploit the service's infrastructure or underlying systems.
• Generate content that sexualises minors in any way.

We reserve the right to restrict access to the service for any user who violates these terms, without prior notice.

TFM is provided as-is, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• That the service will be available at any given time.
• That responses will be accurate, appropriate, or fit for any particular purpose.
• That the service will be free of bugs, errors, or interruptions.

This is a hobby project maintained by one person in their spare time. Downtime happens. Breaking changes happen. We will try our best, but we make no promises.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Astar Labs shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of TFM, including but not limited to damages resulting from reliance on its output, service interruptions, or data loss.

The TFM models, codebase, and interface are the work of Astar Labs. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or claim ownership of any part of the service without explicit written permission.

Content you input into TFM remains yours. We do not claim ownership over your prompts or conversations.

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue TFM at any time, for any reason, without notice.
• Change these Terms of Service at any time. The Last Updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.

Continued use of TFM after a terms update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Since we do not store contact information, we have no way to notify you of changes directly. We encourage you to check this page occasionally.

Previous versions of these terms will be linked here when available.

These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium and, where applicable, the laws of the European Union. Any disputes arising from your use of TFM shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Belgian courts.
